The Pan-galactic Gargleblaster of my mind

For my brother

We went to the Gnaoua World Music Festival in Essaouira this past weekend. More on that later, but since I haven't blogged in a while I just wanted to quickly post this up. My brother will be interested to see what Moroccan fire trucks look like. I took the photos at night, so they're a little grainy, but you get the idea.

Moroccan fashion

Shan and I got invited to a fashion show last Friday. It was put on by some young kids and so was amateur, but fun nonetheless. It was more like a variety or talent show, because they had skits and singers while the models changed outfits. My favorite was the three dancing boys who did a Latin style dance. They had their fluffy white shirts tied up at the waist. Hee hee.

I didn't get very good photos because of poor lighting, but here are a couple of samples of the djellebas and kaftans.

Break out the cigars

We have seven new additions to our zoo. Lucy finally had babies. This is what they looked like last Wednesday, when they were born. Now they have a bit of fine fur growing, they're looking like rolypolies, and supposedly next week they'll be running around the cage.

I got a monkey on my back

Those of you who know me well will appreciate that I've given up Diet Coke. Anybody who has ever been a drinker of Diet Coke can feel my pain, I'm sure. Don't laugh. I've had a migraine from hell for the last two days. Just behind my left eye. Not nice. And the crrrraaaaaaaavings. Oh, the cravings.

It's been three whole days since I kicked the habit. I need a support group.
