The Pan-galactic Gargleblaster of my mind

Srakazit (an old post I forgot to post, but still find amusing)

Shan and I made the mistake of leaving our apartment in the hands of two Moroccan men (our lesser halves) while we were away in Arkansas. Moroccan people, in case you didn't know, are very zen about las cucarachas, believing it's possible for people and las cucarachas to live together in harmony.

"It's the heat," they say. "Srakazit he live here in the summertime."

The Moroccans only acknowledge the existence of las cucarachas in that they rinse off dishes before using them. You know, in case las cucarachas have scurried across said dishes.

Okay, this harmonious faux-symbiotic live-in-peace bullshit is NOT okay with me. So we have been emptying cans of Raid around the house left and right, probably killing ourselves and our future-unborn babies with the fumes. Don't care. Must kill roaches.

More drama

Okay, we got back to Morocco last Wednesday with 3 of our 6 checked bags, and our old boss picked us up from the airport, nice guy that he is. It did not go unnoticed, however, that when we drove past the new school there was a gigantic sign for "Go Form" -- a gymasium -- and not a hint of AISA, the school. Yikes! I commented about it to old boss and he said that new boss was planning to run gym and school from the same building.

That's what was called "letting us down gently".... apparently. We headed back to the airport with old boss on Friday to recover 3 missing bags (Phew!). That's when he told us that new boss had told him the night before that he did not, in fact, get the authorization needed to run the new school. So we'll be back to teaching in the old school building now. Perhaps with new boss, perhaps with old boss. Meetings this week will tell us what's going to happen. Right now we don't know, but we feel like 99.5% sure we'll still have jobs.

Need to have my head examined

Whoa, it's been a while. Am in Arkansas visitin' the family right now. Last week I went to Kansas for a few days to see my BFF Chrissy, her husband Howard, and their children Katie and Ben. I had a fantastic time, and actually contemplated moving to Kansas (KANSAS??!!) because I don't think I can stand another year away from Chrissy. And somewhat unexpectedly, being around Katie and Ben left me longing for leaky boobs and stitches holding together my torn private parts.....
